Blue Hope ... such a beautiful name for a fragrance and then from XerJoff ... it had to be tested!
What the scent has to do with hope is not entirely clear to me ... but it does sound nice. Especially in combination with the matching bottle ;)
Amouage's Sunshine Women is a bit in the opening ... then it becomes a fruity-sweet semi-gourmand (although I don't see it as a gourmand since it's not too sweet) with vanilla, wood, and musk in tow. A little creature is the little secret of Blue Hope! But read for yourself :)
About the scent:
Blue Hope starts with citrus notes that definitely remind me of orange candies (I still have to laugh when I think of Meggi's comment) and somehow also something that reminds me of Davana ... maybe that's why my initial thought was with the Sunshine. But according to the pyramid, Davana is not in there.
Cool-fruity-herb-sweet it smells from my wrist.
Saffron, cedar, and jasmine add to the scent progression ... it becomes spicy-woody but not too floral. An enchanting scent that is really very hard to describe.
With vanilla and fluffy musk, it heads into the base. Castoreum can already be sniffed before the base, and you should like this note; otherwise, it won't work with the "blue hope" ... because that's exactly the little secret that adds the finishing touch between vanilla-musk-wood and makes it special.
The base is tender ... sexy ... enchanting ... intoxicating the senses and driving me a bit crazy ;)
Unisex ... yes, definitely!
Blue Hope is wearable all year round, but it's not an everyday scent.
The longevity is a good 8-9 hours and the sillage is in the medium range.
The bottle is a dream in blue and has the familiar XerJoff shape from the Shooting Stars collection (I personally don't find the new, rounder bottles quite as beautiful anymore)
Conclusion:
The blue hope is quite delicious... reminds me of Sunshine... just with an animalistic touch that transitions into a tender vanilla-musk base!
I must confess ... 400 euros would not have been worth it for me for Blue Hope, but thanks to a nice souk deal, the scent was allowed to join my collection after much back and forth as a leftover bottle :)
I recommend it for anyone who enjoys musk with vanilla and an animalistic twist! It's already a lovely little treasure!
You describe it beautifully! But I think the sweet Sunshine is enough for me ;) I’ll sniff everything that comes my way! This one too. Maybe. Someday :)
Another lovely Christmas comment, thank you! Something's not right with my brain. Coromandel is way too sweet for me, but I don't find this one sweet at all, just simply great! And no one else seems to smell hazelnuts..............What are the molecules doing to my head?? Anyway, even without the nutty aroma, you described it beautifully :-)))
Nice comment!
