Oh Richwood my Richwood, where have you left your wood?

I was more than excited to test the Richwood. Because of the price and the name, I somehow put the Stone Label Collection from Xerjoff on a little pedestal and had high hopes and expectations. Somehow wrongly so. Some people will now be asking themselves:
"But wait, how can it be that I read such words and at the same time see that the fragrance AMano here gives a 9.5 for the fragrance?"
Let me explain.
To this day, I look for the rich wood in the fragrance that is in the name. Both in the fragrance and in the individual fragrance oils that are listed. I can't really find it. Neither in one nor in the other.
But let's start from the beginning. For me, this fragrance starts off a little fresh and fruity. Quite pleasant - not like a combination of "Torino21 | XerJoff" and "Erba Pura | XerJoff" - not like that, of course. But a subtle fruitiness that probably comes from the blackcurrant, grapefruit, mandarin and bergamot. Beautiful. Not intrusive, rather quiet and not accompanied by a tremendous sillage or anything like that.
I am still often surprised when I put on "Richwood | XerJoff" that these scents are the first to emerge.
But now comes the absolute prime time of the fragrance for me. The fruitiness and freshness slowly recede - after just a few minutes - and the heart opens up. To my nose, the fragrance develops into a classic men's fragrance from the past. Only somehow without being stale or something you've smelled a hundred times before. I strongly suspect that this is the rose geranium. I've often found it in perfumes that I thought were particularly good. It is incredibly round and perfect. Warm, slightly sweet but again without being overpowering. Absolutely classic, I would say. Perhaps it even has something slightly soapy and clean in it that slowly comes to the fore.
And it stays that way until the end, fading ever more softly. One could imagine to sniff sandalwood. I would be happy if this wonderful fragrance lived up to its name, at least in part. I imagine myself wearing a good suit or a loose linen shirt on vacation. But it can also be worn just as well as an everyday signature fragrance.

When I first tested it, I wasn't really convinced and put my sample away again. After maybe two months, I picked it up again with the thought in my head 'It can't be that you think it's so stupid'. And my opinion actually changed immediately. What can I say? Suddenly I have a bottle with me and I love it. Even if the price is unfortunately incredibly expensive and I don't know where it comes from apart from huge profits for the house of Xerjoff. Neither the longevity nor the sillage is bombastic. But the fragrance is exceptionally beautiful in my opinion. It's also great for women, of course.
I would say that every perfume enthusiast should try it! Or even should. But don't be confused by the name.

Greetings to you all.
