What's going on with you? / Do you really find this fitting?
Hello everyone,
I have to admit that this review hurts me a bit!
Almost 10 years ago today, I bought my first Xerjoff in Turin, and great releases followed, and everything was cool until 2021, but starting in 2022, it felt like everything changed, and it wasn't just due to the massive "reformulation"... When I see what has become of this great, original, and creative company that has released some real hits in the past, and when I look at their releases today... - bleak!
In 2021, there was still the "Torino21 | XerJoff," and that was really good and usable, the "Torino22 | XerJoff" was special - one had to accept and want it, the "Torino23 | XerJoff" was, in my opinion, nonsense, and the "Torino24 | XerJoff" was somehow the same...
This fruity - citrusy - synthetic and pseudo FRESH... with a drydown that feels mostly the same (fluffy, soft, creamy, clean musk) - I don't know if that's really beneficial for the company, given their standards, etc., it's difficult. Yes, it's okay..., but spending nearly 180€ (depending on where you get it) for something just okay feels challenging.
The sillage is okay to good, and the bottle is, as usual, really appealing, but that was the only "positive" thing I can mention (unfortunately).
Do you have to have it? As a bottle, no. But testing it is fine.
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny _______
Your opinion on this, and mine as well (!) is relatively subjective at the end of the day; it's a personal opinion. Everyone can see, feel, and evaluate it however they want, and that's cool! As long as we interact respectfully like here (!) @Andreas81 and @Smoedi, that's all that matters.
On one hand, I'm really interested in your opinion on this, and on the other hand, I know... there's a certain kind of caution regarding it. Because some people can react quite specifically because of that 😳🫣
I completely agree. The issue is also the purpose behind the scents. Torino 21 perfectly captures that sporty feeling. When I spray it on, I just want to get moving and be active. The others don’t have that effect; they would have been better as standalone fragrances. The 24 is supposed to smell like a freshly opened can of tennis balls. While that fits the theme, it’s more of an art piece that I can appreciate smelling, but wouldn’t want to wear. Nothing else comes close to the 21. You can tell since it’s the only one in the line available in 100ml.
It's great! Just like the 23 (I actually think it's even better than the 24). Where does it say that Torino always has to be as fresh as the 21?? The ATP Finals take place in November. You don't necessarily need that much freshness then. Always this complaining that everything was better back in the day. Should they release the same scent year after year? I think it's all going in the right direction, in my opinion. Creative, you know!
