Dear gentlemen and LADIES! :-)
Well, what should I personally think of YSL L'Homme? I own this fragrance, but I hardly ever wear it! It is rather in the higher price range, and every time I think to myself: "Noble be the scent, helpful and good!" ;-) But is it really as described, fresh-spicy, which is my preferred composition? From me, there’s a clear NO!
Something seems to bother me about this EDT, and the crux of the matter is: I can't even say exactly what!? One of the numerous flankers might be ideal for me, but experience shows: The sport version would probably be too bland for me, the night version definitely too sweet, and I would gladly forgo everything else if I already have a problem with the original!
It is actually less a matter of liking, but rather concerns the type question. I have thought long and hard about how to best express this, and I have come to the following, perhaps "amateurish" conclusion: YSL L'Homme is actually too feminine for me! It has a floral-powdery note in my nose that I would prefer to smell on my beloved lady rather than on myself!
YSL L'Homme is not powerful or striking, rather balsamic, a bit laid-back, a kind of "yoga mat scent" for the softie among men (no offense intended). Although well-balanced and appearing high-quality, it will probably only rarely see the light of day with me... What a shame!
