a bewitched piece of leather and a stoned Aventus

So.....

...anyone testing the three new elixirs from Zara will be quite confused when they spray on the Violet. While the other two immediately show what is meant by elixir, I initially thought: 'Huh???? What is this????' A hint of floral, which is well described by 'Violet', and a bit of leather. That's it. An Eau de Cologne leather or what? Compared to the other two, it has less power. No idea, I found myself pondering with question marks over my head, focusing again on the other fragrances. After a while, I took another sniff and I was even more confused. What is this now? Again 'Huh?' Suddenly it was a leather bomb. Where did that come from? A hint of something and a ton of leather.

I thought of a perfumer who just went crazy after his 400th scent, where no one understands what it is supposed to be. The sandalwood was not for me, so I headed home before I picked up something pointless again. Ate something and then, after about an hour, sniffed again. Damn, what is this now? Again question marks and a 'Huh.' The leather became subtle and no longer so intrusive, and suddenly a hint of Aventus peeked through a small window and grinned stupidly. But not an offensive, zesty Aventus, rather a boring stoner, lounging on the couch.

So, a nice leather, a shabby hint of something Aventus, rounded off with something that I still don't know what it is supposed to be, but as already mentioned, 'violet' describes it quite well. Yes, that's all it is, well, a few elements do come into play like tobacco or cognac or something, etc., but relatively unspectacular, almost boring, yet still captivating. I liked this dull simplicity more and more. I thought of a practical leather scent with a pinch of extra. It would even work in the office. Damn, just move on, you don't need it, you don't even like leather that much. Come on, you really don't need it. But as you all know, a fragrance that interests you, combined with a super price, almost always wins. So, of course I need it, absolutely.
Bam, made a 180-degree U-turn, straight past the oddly looking security, up the escalator that wasn't working, grabbed the Violet a bit and slammed it on the counter at the checkout. With a look that loudly said: 'Yes, exactly, I'm buying this weird violet thing that no one wants, right now. You don't need to look like that.' The craving was satisfied, and the more I sniffed on my way home, the more we became friends. The Violet will completely fly under the radar, I'm sure of that. But I tell you, it is the best. Among the rather simple, understated, everyday-friendly ones, but still strong. Still the subtlest of the bunch, which is why I like it the most. The perfumer wasn't as confused with his 401st scent as I thought. Because somehow this rather simple, almost boring scent has something magical, powerful, and dark about it and somehow also a certain depth. All of this together can really catch you. The perfumer must be a wizard!

Edit: it also layers pretty well with Club de Nuit Intense Man Eau de Toilette. 2/3 Violet and 1/3 CDNI create something really great.

PS: Crazy, I'm feeling just like you described. At first, I was really negative about it. I was even a bit shocked and totally in WTF mode. I was already wondering what to do with the Violet Elixir.
Now I really appreciate it.
A fascinating scent!

It will probably stay under the radar. While the others in the line are overflowing with reviews, yours is the only one so far.
Plus, there’s not a single offer for a sample to test it out. It's a shame, really.
I’d be curious to know if it’s just as cloyingly sweet and uninteresting as the Tabacco or if it actually has something to offer. Your review at least suggests that.
