Oh!! Just the word "bird sand" just gave me a flashback of Hansi (sic!), my grandma's budgie. That sand had a smell!! Your statement makes the scent sound intriguing ;-)
I'm still not quite sure about it. One day I smell the vanilla-amber-smoky undertone more, the next day the fruits stand out better. But with the first spray, it smelled like bird sand and then a cage that hadn't been cleaned in a while. 🙈
Well, during the first test, it was quite confusing. It's not strongly smoky, more like a background noise... Some days it's more noticeable, other days less...
It transforms from a really terrible birdseed with raspberries and a bit of champagne to seductively soft smoke on amber wood with vanilla notes... Slightly sweet fruity notes are still there. But it fits now. Can I warm up to the opening over time? The more I test it, the more I enjoy the scent.
I was curious about this one. But it quickly became uninteresting... The Zoologist fragrances are extremely unique because each scent always has a base note that doesn't quite fit.
