The old Dior Addict from 2002 (and even the one from 2012) had the note & smelled extremely nice - vanilla-floral-sultry. Hope for something like that in a modern version 😊
This fragrance house is an emotional rollercoaster for me. I've often been quite disappointed, then puzzled about the wearability, and occasionally even thrilled. Recently, I've really only liked the Kobra. However, your description of it sounds very appealing.
That would be an interesting question for a biologist: do some animals' mimicry go so far that they adopt the scent of the plants in their habitat to camouflage themselves? Visually, the orchid mantis certainly does it very convincingly.
Juicy, dew-kissed green, in the jungle (or in a tropical greenhouse) the water drips continuously from the leaf edges into the moist earth. The humid air carries floral notes (authentic Queen of the Night bloom! and orchid, I don't have the rose, and it wouldn't have fit anyway). There's also some kind of Asian-soapy incense note (sandalwood?). The base features a very fitting moist-earthy patchouli (very subtle) and rooty-oily vetiver. Synthetic musk is nicely integrated. The theme is well captured! However, it doesn't last very long on me.
It doesn't last long for me either. I sprayed it five times - it stays subtle, but I couldn't really notice it without getting close to my hand. I prefer the “Queen of the Night” from Dior Addict over this one. But this scent isn't bad: soapy, yes, earthy, also very floral, and for me, it has a bit of a retro vibe.
Too bad the disguise works so well.
