Move over J'adore, this flanker puts you to shame
I'm not sure what made me test this fragrance, seeing that I'm not a fan of the original, however since having experienced this fragrance on the skin, J'Adore L'Or (or Essence de Parfum), is hardly anything like the original, and therefore far more pleasing to my nose.

This fragrance is quite a rich, syrupy white floral. It is golden and bold in its nature, and it seems to be far more elegant than the EDP version of J'Adore, at least in my opinion. It focuses primarily upon jasmine and rose, distilled directly from Dior's fields in Grasse. This fragrance isn't however your typical, soft white floral, because it is in fact quite complex and strong.

Smelling this fragrance actually reminds me of those big, loud and classic fragrances of the 70's and 80's. The richness is rather shocking and sensual at the same time. The fruity nuances usually found in J'Adore are missing in this particular composition, and in its place are thick and heady vanilla notes and resinous amber.

J'Adore L'Or of course demands your attention as a powerful scent and one that speaks of sophistication and elegance. Apparently it is an exclusive fragrance, yet I have managed to find it in quite a few small stores in my area.

The lasting strength is very impressive, however this is a fragrance that relies upon skin chemistry to work. Unfortunately towards the heart, J'Adore L'Or turned sour and rather chemical on my skin which was a huge let-down.

All in all, this fragrance doesn't feel like a flanker to me. I think it deserves another name entirely because I doubt that J'Adore lovers will appreciate this new release.

Yes, it has something.
Ingepetra has said it all.*lol*
But I also want to express my wisdom. I might have a different taste.
I bought a decant of 'Adore l'Or' blindly based on the comments here and was not disappointed.

Once again, a perfume that is how a scent should be.
Absolutely feminine, floral, lovely, creamy, delicate, and noble.

The opening is very floral, lovely, and even warm. The slight soapiness here is not bothersome at all.
However, the aura becomes a bit sugary for me, and with a bit of goodwill, it can also be considered powdery-sugary.
For those who prefer sweeter scents, 'Adore l'Or' is something for them.
For me, it doesn't quite reach the level of "Beige" and "SummerbyKenzo," but that's really a matter of taste.

In any case, it is a great and well-rounded scent that flatters every woman.

Sweet, but...
… I will stick with J'adore L'Absolue.

At first, I was very taken with L'Or, but after testing it multiple times, I found that it is a bit too sweet for me. I can't quite pinpoint what bothers my nose so much. I am also (still?) not an expert when it comes to discerning which note is currently dominant. L'Absolue has this sweetness too, but it is less consistently present; it is a bit smokier, I think, as well as a little darker and heavier than the regular J'adore EDP. Perhaps it is the jasmine combined with the vanilla and tonka bean in L'Or; in any case, it is really quite unpleasant for me when this scent wafts too intensely around my nose.

It is somewhat strange that after this intense smelling experience with L'Or, my L'Absolue has become a bit foreign to me, due to this unpleasant note that both share, but which I only perceive so intensely in L'Or. However, since it is still more subdued in L'Absolue, I hope that my nose can clear up again, because I actually really like L'Absolue. Furthermore, I am also considering giving the regular J'adore another chance in the form of a miniature, as I long for the sparkling, fresh fruity note of J'adore again. After all, it was the first perfume that truly captivated me in my early 20s.

I must say that I am not particularly sad that L'Or is probably not for me at the moment. My wallet is happy, as the must-have factor is missing. However, I will still test it again at certain times to get to know it better. Perhaps I will change my mind in a few weeks or years; who knows?

Top notes were fabulous! Then it became a freshly peeled peach-no peach in the notes! Not terrible, but I'm not ever a fan of peach notes.

Labdanum blends so beautifully with the jasmine in this, for me, the best J'adore.

Not a copy of the series. Just WOW. Smelled it on a stranger and bought it. Seductive femininity in a bottle.

Floral-fresh start that resembles J'adore little; opulent rose in the heart, ambered, warm, earthy-powdery base!
