Midnight mass... by Mike Flanagan

Upon smelling this, I could not shake the association with the Flanagan's Midnight Mass series. The one with the vampire being worshiped as an angel in a small town in Maine? Powerful wine note in the opening, combined with incense and wax somehow manages to produce a scent not of a Christian mass but the opposite. An amazing gothic scent, I just wish it lasted longer, considering the price.

Very prominent merlot!

I'm a sucker for wine scents, so if you're not into that - this one isn't for you. I don't get a lot of frankincense nor smoke, but definitely woody notes and moss, it's like an unholy eucharistic rite in the middle of the night in a forgotten church. I honestly appreciate this, as most of the "mass" centered perfumes focuse too much on the incense - I'm glad to try something different. I get the stone of the abandoned church, used for rituals, I get the wine (as reverse blood of Christ, I guess?...), beeswax, and the whole setting. Interesting and well done, different from most of the perfumes that want to portrait a dark gothic mass.

The packaging was great, unfortunately I cannot say the same for the perfume.
It's not powerful at all, doesn't stay not even half hour on the skin.
Also I barely smell the frankinsence which supposed to be one of the main ingredients.
Overpriced and on the top of it arrived with custom charges.
