Rose of the ocean
I stumbled upon Aurora Scents by chance and hoped to find the ultimate underdog, as there is really hardly anything to be found about Aurora on the internet. I simply chose the one that looked best to me and also had a name that suggested it might appeal to me - Rage of the ocean - nice name but in my opinion not quite fitting.
The bottle and packaging are very well done, looking very, very elegant, especially the bottle which is remarkably heavy and high-quality.
To be honest, I expected a stormy sea and hoped the rose would stay more in the background, but I was a bit disappointed here. At first, it smells like an expensive, light rose water which unfortunately also gives me grandma vibes. Once that passes, the rose settles a bit and it smells like a light, high-quality fresh scent without any further special features.
What makes matters worse is that the scent appears very close to the skin and light, which is why I would almost rate the sillage at 0. I can really only smell it when I sniff my skin as if I were trying to catch a whiff, very unfortunate.
Overall, after 15 minutes it smells somewhat nice and high-quality, but way too light and perhaps a bit feminine, absolutely not what I expected and in this case unfortunately a failed blind buy.
Maybe I just need more time with it. For me, more Rose of the Ocean than Rage of the Ocean.
