Cocoa oud and musk balsam
Moving deeper into the artisanal niche territory and enjoying every step of it.
Getting in touch with Thihot, I was already super interested in Siberian Oud just by reading the notes and description I was ready to risk it all (once again!) and buy a bottle. To my surprise, for the first time ever, a brand owner would not allow me to buy a bottle before trying his creation first, because it was so important to him that his customers will really love and enjoy his fragrances. He would not "shut up and take my money" (the AUDACITY!), so I was happy to receive the sample and get exactly what I knew I would, a bottle worthy wild child artisanal indie creation.
If you can't handle a bit of zoo, authentic oud and even more of rrrrrrrrr, stay away. Love something unique, wild, oudy, musky and slightly dirty and dark? GO. FOR. IT. (!!!)
Especially the first batch kicks off with a strong benzoin note, that is less strong in the second batch. In both, right away I get that amazing waxy musk, that is so rare to find these days due to strict limitations. And as if that musk note was not enough, it also has a good dose of oud, slightly animalic, beautiful leathery dark, showcasing a perfect symbiosis with castoreum that makes me melt like the cocoa absolute chocolate vibe that tops it all off without ever going too sweet or gourmand.
Overall the fragrance has a very balsamic vibe to it while also giving a comforting, cuddly, second skin impression that makes me want to bathe in it. It has a strangely addictive, uplifting and relaxing effect on me.
