Crème de Cuir bdk Parfums 2018 Eau de Parfum

I used to absolutely detest suede and leather in fragrances because often times, they come off smelling like plastic to me and on me in fragrances. However, as my taste continues to change, I’m finding that I enjoy a good suede note and don’t care for actual leather as much. Suede is like a softened, velvety version of the harsher and denser leather.

In Crème de Cuir, the suede is soft and brightened by the citruses and spicy notes. The opening is a bit disorienting, but once all the notes settle, it’s becomes remarkably smooth, soft and silky. I love the juxtaposition of the citruses on top and woods + musks in the bottom, and I feel like it has a multifaceted vibe of uplifting, calming, but still very sexy and sensual. My mom has a bottle and every time I’d put some on, I found myself becoming more and more infatuated with the scent.

Performance is good on my skin, lasts over 8+ hours with good application and leave a beautiful scent trail that is sort of addictive. Versatile and perfectly unisex imo, but could see it leaning slightly feminine. I never thought I’d take an affinity to this scent, but I’m happy to have a full bottle coming to wear for the fall. Definitely an underrated one from BDK.
