Soleil de France Câline 2025

The thermometer climbed to 30 degrees, and thanks to the humidity, it felt like being in the tropics. Quite unusual for our area, but it has been happening more often. Quickly popped into Rossmann for a few things. At the fragrance shelf, a group of teenage girls. Giggles, chatter, and squeals. Just like a normal pubescent creature behaves. I took it very casually.

My goal was the side shelf, and I had to pass by the girly gang. Bam... I almost lost my breath. What was that? I had never smelled anything like it. Lena with the pink hair had a fragrance in hand and sprayed her friend Janina with it. The tester made its rounds. Then the youth left, and I rushed to the fragrance shelf.

Soleil de France was the scent of the youth. Since I am always curious, I went for the tester. I expected something intense, but not like this. Coconut hit me full throttle right away, followed by rancid hazelnut and... just a bit of almond and pistachio. But there was such a strange smell in there. I was disgusted. The hit continued with traces of apple (only in minuscule amounts) and burnt caramel. Then it merrily continued with Christmas baking. Chocolate, cloying and captivating, tonka bean overshadowing everything, and vanilla like the oil from the baking ingredients shelf as the crowning glory. Pure synthetic.

I, the silly cow, had sprayed the stuff on my wrist and now had a mess. I couldn't get rid of the rancid, synthetic, and intense smell quickly. I had to go somewhere else, and people said it suddenly smelled like a fair. Others said it was like a Christmas market. The scent was very clingy. I had it on my hand for 8 hours, and even my usual tricks for removing unwanted fragrances didn't help.

Actually, Câline has made decent fragrances until now, but this brand has been struggling for about a year. There’s something in it that doesn’t appeal to me. The price must be kept, at the expense of the ingredients. Cheap is really cheap.

Those who love such hits will be well served with this fragrance. But I am fed up with it and have had enough.
