Miami City Rhythm 2021
1
Suburban tropical
I thought this would be my jam, but it's a sort of a disappointing perfume. City Rhytm has done other tropicals and freshies, and this one seems lacking compared to literally every other sample of theirs I tried. It lacks subtelty and feels sort of awkward.
It opens with a bright coconut-lime fistfight, one note trying to overpower the other descending quickly into undescript sweetness and dries down into mediocre "manly man's cologne" sort of woody ambergris that was done many times before. All of that with a proper "beast-mode" sillage and longevity that seems too grandiose for such a nothingburger of a scent.
Don't get me wrong, it's not exactly disgusting or anything, just overdone, overbearing, and seems completely underwhelming. The monstrous sillage makes every note hit you like a brick to the point of headache, each of them never agreeing with each other. Instead of a chill vacation, you get a crazy family reunion dinner, where everyone shouts on one another, someone gets pissy drunk, a random fight breaks out accompanied by an obnoxiously loud music from a tablet, that was given to a child no one has time to tend to.
