Really Good Fragrance with Average Performance
I couldn't find any info on this house or fragrances, so I wanted to give some insight on my favorite one. I had ordered 3 small samples from ScentBird since it was the only place I could find these, other than their official site.
In the open you get apple and saffron immediately, with slight cardamom spice in the background. The beginning could be a little sharp, so give it a little time (I'm talking like 15 seconds) before you start digging your nose in it. You do also get the booziness off the bat that encapsulates the top notes. The apple is sweet but not too sweet. It's more a green apple, tart instead of candied. The saffron is a little smoky/leathery but not challenging and blends really well with everything. At this point think of a way more sophisticated and mature version of Kilian's Apple Brandy.
In the mid the cardamom recedes even more and your left with the sweet/tartness of the apple on top of the rum and saffron. The notes have cognac, but I'd say rum is prominent. The wood starts to come through at this point as well, about 1.5 to 2 hours in. Sandalwood is listed but I get a dry cedarwood which I am big fan of. It reminds me very much of the wood used in YSL Babycat. It's sweetened by the vanilla, and the praline comes off like a more nutty sweetness rather than chocolatey. Think of the praline in Althair. The apple lasts through the whole life of the fragrance, with it still adding a tinge on top during the full dry down.
Antihero lasts about 5-6 hours for me, with about and hour and a half of moderate projection. I think for it's role (date night, intimate type fragrance), it does the job. It's not horribly priced, but it's not cheap either. I should also mention the ingredients smell quality, nothing to shallow or synthetic to my nose. I ended up ordering one of the large travel sprays, and depending on how that goes I'll probably end up getting a full bottle. The bottles look really nice as well.
