Unpleasant Schlager Memories!

Liz Claiborne was the American queen of the business look for women! Her designs were the first in the 1970s to keep up with men's suits effortlessly. In 1990, she handed over the reins of her company and retreated into private life. The designer passed away in 2007 from cancer.

Bora Bora is, I think, a typically American perfume. It is meant to be a reminiscence of the island/atoll of the Society Islands in French Polynesia.
Those of us who are a bit older might still remember the name of this island from the Schlager ballad by Toni Marschall (yikes). But the fragrance is better than the Schlager!

So, what does BB smell like? Primarily of tuberose! The top note is subtly fresh, and the mandarin note is somewhat artificial. You can already sense the tuberose here.

The heart is entirely dominated by tuberose! The jasmine comes through only a little, while the other two flowers are completely overshadowed.

I can't detect any ginger in the base; only the sandalwood extends the tuberose and gives it a subtle woody note.

I don't find this tuberose scent bad, but it doesn't quite suit my taste.

For lovers of jasmine and tuberose, BB could be a candidate for testing.
