A fresh-herbaceous Tonka fragrance with a subtle cinnamon undertone
Cuir Tonka by Élixir Privé is currently my absolute favorite fragrance; I find it simply delicious. From the very first spray, it captivated me.
The scent has a herb-fresh opening, yet a warm, soft "undertone" already resonates at the beginning, a faint cinnamon background. Following that, there is a barely noticeable herbal sweetness, where the sweetness is so minimal that you can only sense it, as the herb-freshness is predominantly perceptible. I really like that, because there are already plenty of perfumes with overwhelming sweetness. Cuir Tonka is of course sweet, no question, but not in a "bam!" way, and thanks to the well-coordinated, diverse keep-calmer, it is significantly more harmonious.
A pleasant vanilla and tonka bean are clearly detectable, while the slightly herb-cinnamon freshness is always present. Despite this freshness, I perceive the scent as warm, soft, caressing, and comforting. For me, it's a top fragrance!
I wouldn't necessarily recommend Cuir Tonka only for autumn and winter. Of course, it fits best in these seasons, but I find it quite wearable in spring and summer due to the herbaceous freshness. Exceptions would be 28°C and above - which is rarely the case up here in the far north - or during sports activities.
Longevity on my skin with 4 sprays is surprisingly good, meaning several hours; the scent is still noticeable the next day.
The sillage also seems to be good, which is exactly why I hesitate to actually go out with 6 to 8 sprays ;-)) I will first try it out when I stay at home, as I am curious how this beautiful, yet quite strong scent will affect me in such a hefty dose.
You should know that I usually only spray perfumes 2 times.
But since 8 sprays are normal for most of you, it shouldn't be a problem for you.
The heavy glass bottle with minimalist labeling has a cap with a pleasantly soft feel and magnetic closure. I really like that too.
The year of release is, to my knowledge, 2022, and the perfumer is Angeline Leporini.
I can warmly recommend Cuir Tonka ;-) a test is definitely worth it.
So, that was my first review here, so please be patient with me ;-)
