Ambrosiae Extra Virgo 2025

brief honey, then lots of sandalwood & spices, mainly saffron. almost metallic / sour with the rose, which feels like an oxide maybe, even leaning into something geranium-esque at points. oud sulks in the background. there is a thread of something resinous yet fresh that weaves itself throughout that i put down to the work of frankincense - citrussy and eucalyptus-like. the civet makes itself more apparent as it dries. overall i like this scent, but it's also a bit too chaotic for my tastes. i prefer 'la bague d'o' by jouissance, which has a similar drydown but is less convoluted.

A dream of a sauna landscape in which a meadow of flowers is enveloped by the dense mist of the heat, the pollen gathers in a large fountain, a mixture that ferments into nectar, which one is allowed to drink. On the other side, cool fountains release clear water for cooling off. In the background, the animalic scent of bodies being massaged with exquisite essential oils. In my opinion, an incredibly wearable fragrance, if one does not find the intensity of this image frightening.
