A Mystical Tobacco Scent
The fragrance was created using two types of natural tobacco absolute; Virginia blond tobaccos (light) and dark Criollo (medium). In addition to the absolute, the composition includes a variety of spices, such as Indonesian clove and Sri Lankan cinnamon, along with smoky antiqued birch tar as well as vintage civet and castoreum, blended with Indian sandalwood.
Sacred Tobacco is an olfactory tribute to the past and therefore attempts to recreate the atmosphere of a very old library with its dark mahogany wood and rich leather furnishings, an inviting hearth and flame, creating an alluring and evocative environment. The scent is particularly rich in resinous, animalic, and smoky notes with a very dry and ancient feel to it.
If you are looking for a raw, complex, and powerful tobacco fragrance that leans heavily into the smoky, spicy, leather and animalic facets rather than just sweetness, you have to pick up this gem by Extra Virgo

A refined tobacco composition
This Italian brand stands out for its clear concept, distinctive packaging, and exceptional quality. A consistent animalic undertone runs through all its fragrances, seamlessly blending here with tobacco. The result is remarkable.

The opening is slightly bold, spicy, and distinctly masculine, featuring cloves, cinnamon, and a smoky touch from birch tar. As it evolves, the tobacco takes center stage—evoking rich Kentucky leaves with both dry and subtly smoky facets. It offers a refined smokiness reminiscent of a fine cigar or high-quality pipe tobacco, without any harsh burnt notes.

Animalic elements, led by vintage-style civet and by softened castoreum, remain present throughout the entire duration of the scent on skin. Initially sharp, they gradually mellow with sandalwood, lending a creamy warmth. The dry-down is velvety, with a hint of sweetness, as the smoky, spicy tobacco trail fades into a subtle presence.

This fragrance is an exceptionally realistic and complex take on tobacco, rich in depth and character. Best suited for colder months, it exudes sophistication and mystery. Longevity is outstanding, while projection remains discreet, ensuring understated elegance. Though not the most versatile scent, it is undoubtedly an Italian masterpiece.

Neither tobacco nor animal
I found it quite disappointing when I tried it.
One sees notes and expects something else, which is usually the case.

The castoreum and civet are not predominant. They certainly participate in the "darkness" of the composition, but they are not prominent at all, and it is difficult for this to happen.

I do not identify tobacco as such. Is it there to sweeten the composition? Or is it a darker, unidentifiable black tobacco?

Well, whatever it is, what I would describe the perfume as for me is an olfactory experience that becomes darker after the first half hour, although at the start it may seem more woody and forest-like.
If it had a decent performance, it could be a perfume to radiate a very imposing mystical and dark presence, but as it stays close to the skin with little silage and a non-existent projection, it cannot be given a social use.
To read a horror and mystery novel next to the stove or radiator on a rainy autumn/winter night, well, it might be enough. Just enough to spend a couple of hours after dinner before going to bed. No more.

Of Gods and Dark Tobacco Leaves
His Ayahuasca had turned out bitter-brown, enough coffee shrub, bark, and vines; Mukashe had already consumed it, the effect perhaps already begun, he couldn't say for sure. He knelt in deep contemplation over the spicy mulch of tobacco leaves, absentmindedly kneading them between his hands, probably for hours. The black Criollo was soon tattered, ground between cloves and sharp cinnamon leaf, on his apron made of leather rags. It became a hashish-like lump, dark brown spicy pollen. The ritual could now begin. The green threads of ethereal flames, burning in the ash of birch tar, perhaps only existed in his thoughts, there among the grains of dark cigars, which cleansed his soul and connected him with the gods.
**
"Sacred Tobacco" addresses rituals of the Amazonian people that are over 4000 years old, who smoked coca and tobacco leaves to establish a connection with the gods. To this end, they consumed the hallucinogenic Ayahuasca, which was brewed from vines and coffee shrub leaves.
For "Sacred Tobacco," highly aromatic Virginia and dark Criollo cigar tobacco absolutes were used, whose deep spicy aromas were underscored by smoky birch tar, sharp clove, green-ethereal cinnamon leaf, and leathery notes of civet and castoreum stretched with Indian sandalwood. The result is a scent of sharp-spicy, minimally animalic-leathery, dark brown complexity, reminiscent of a blend of Maduro tobacco bouquet and sandy-red resinous pollen kif with a hint of clove kretek. While the brighter Virginia aromas are initially more perceptible, the fragrance increasingly develops darker and spicier, sharper and smokier, yet like an unlit Maduro leaf. One can partake in the moderately to skin-close projecting ritual for an entire evening.

That elusive thing: a tobacco-led fragrance that actually smells of tobacco, with a spicy twist (and a costly price-tag) in the tail.
