Known as the dupe of Althaïr, the Liquid Brun is, in my opinion, even better in many respects.
The opening is beautiful: A distinctly noticeable, yet gentle cinnamon note is accompanied by spicy cardamom and a subtly sweet-fruity orange blossom.
After a few minutes, the vanilla increasingly comes to the forefront, while the elemi resin remains subtly in the background, harmoniously rounding off the overall picture. For me, at this point, the fragrance transforms into a warm, creamy vanilla rice pudding with a hint of cinnamon.
As it develops further, the wonderful praline and guaiac wood notes unfold, giving the fragrance depth. Accompanied by musk and ambroxan, it takes on a special character.
Overall, it is a very beautiful fragrance for me, with strong longevity (8 to 9 hours) and sillage. It definitely ranks among my favorites for autumn and winter.
Anyone considering acquiring the Althaïr should definitely give the Liquid Brun a chance and compare the two. The scent is about 99% identical but clearly surpasses the original in longevity, sillage, and value for money.
