Liquid Brun French Avenue 2024

I was skeptical at first but then blind bought it. Title says it all, I put them both on paper and smell occasionally, results are just amazing. Don't let the opening surprise you, it's the same with all dupes. Let it settle down for 10 minutes. I smell Althair first then LB, can't smell anything else. Then the same with LB, then Althair, no difference. There is any note that is creating a difference and when I smell them both seperately, they smelled the same. No percentage about how close it is, it's just Althair. On skin, on paper, on air, doesn't matter. Bang for your buck kinda scent. Sillage, longevity and all are the same even without maceration. Amazing.

Excellent dupe of Althaïr that gives a bit of Azzaro TMW Parfum grapish vibe but In a good way that is very pleasant.

This smells identical to Althaïr in the air and very similar on my skin with massive performance and good silliage. I’ll not be needing to buy decants of Althaïr anymore because this makes it redundant. Even if you haven’t smelt Althaïr before, buy this if you enjoy vanilla fragrances. Well worth it.

Is Liquid Brun suitable for a clinic?

yes — but with conditions.

This is a warm, sweet vanilla fragrance with a bit of weight, so it is not the safest “office/clinic scent” if oversprayed.

However, in a cold, well air-conditioned clinic, it can work nicely and feel very polished, especially during morning or evening shifts.

The key is moderation: few sprays at most, avoid spraying close to patients, and do not reapply inside the consultation room.

In a clinic, a fragrance should say:
“I’m well-groomed,”
not:
“I arrived five minutes before I did.”

I really wanted to like this one especially considering the massive hype around it and even around the OG it’s inspired by. But after testing it properly, I have to be honest: I just don’t understand the hype at all.

From the very first spray, the scent hit me in a way that was immediately uncomfortable. Instead of feeling warm, smooth, or inviting, it gave me a straight headache. There’s something in the composition that comes across as sharp, heavy, and overwhelming to my nose. Rather than developing nicely on the skin, it stays unpleasant and tiring throughout the wear.

Looking at the notes, on paper it sounds great: orange blossom, cardamom, cinnamon, bourbon vanilla, praline, woods and musk. In reality, though, the spices feel overly aggressive and the sweetness comes across as cloying rather than creamy. The vanilla and praline, which should be cozy and comforting, feel synthetic and dense, almost suffocating. The woody base and ambroxan don’t smooth things out for me instead, they amplify the heaviness.

I can see why some people might enjoy this DNA, especially if you like bold, sweet-spicy gourmand scents. But for my personal taste and my skin chemistry, this one is a hard no. It’s not just not for me it’s actively unpleasant and gives me discomfort when wearing it.

Hype aside, this is a reminder that popularity doesn’t equal personal enjoyment. Always test before buying.

2 weeks ago, i found a liquid brun on vinted for 30€ with azzure oud at same price. I received both, brand new packaging (liquid brun box was broken but it seemed ok). I spray azzure oud, all good, not like Oud Maracujá at all but a good dark leather.

And then comes liquid brun, 1 spray, smell it, yakes !!! Very chemical like a cheap citrusy detergeant, and then, after 20 minutes appears the vanilla and O blossom. But my gosh the opening ? There is no way this is a real one, or is it ?

I don't know what to think, did you guys had the same experience with it ?
