Where have they gone again?
I only took a small spritz from the sample of this fragrance, because even when sniffing the sample, I had only one scent note, or rather, one memory in my head and I was still hoping I was mistaken.
According to the scent notes, there are 15 different notes listed here, and it actually only reminds me of that Penaten cream, which used to be available and still is in that tin can. I can’t think of anything else and I smell nothing but that cream.
The scent is there from the very beginning with full force and truly clings to you even after over 10 hours, still reminiscent of that extremely greasy, heavy Penaten cream.
The longevity is really incredibly good, but unfortunately, I do not like the smell of the cream and thus also of this A Eugene Tale at all. But that’s a matter of taste.
Even though the scent becomes a bit more bearable after about 10 hours,
I do not want to smell like Penaten cream, not even a little bit, as it involuntarily makes me think of diapers in a negative sense.
This is unfortunately not a perfume scent for me; anyone who wants to smell like this might as well just slather themselves with the mentioned cream from the blue tin, although I believe it never really absorbs? I remember it as a greasy substance.
So, absolutely not recommended for a blind purchase; definitely test it first.
Otherwise, I am very positively surprised by the brand GYPSY, which I got to know through a letter, but this one is, in my opinion, a total misstep.
Or my nose is really playing a terrible trick on me :o(
But that’s just my opinion, and I will now have to wash off the rest of the EDP after over 10 hours, and I am glad to have worn this scent only at home in the evening and overnight. I believe I would be reluctant to show it outdoors without wanting to walk around with a stroller. I would probably constantly catch myself looking around to see where such a diaper-wearing person is wandering about ;o)
I definitely mourn the longevity, if only the scent were more pleasant.
