fresh and sour

Due to the hype and the many positive reviews in Karo's feed, I decided to buy this fragrance.
I was super disappointed, as I couldn't detect the note that was announced as particularly special. What was particularly striking for me was that I couldn't classify this scent at all.
At first, it smells very sour. However, this fades relatively quickly, so a fresh, powdery scent becomes noticeable - or am I just imagining that? Can I even smell it anymore? The longevity is also not great. After a few hours, I can no longer perceive the fragrance myself. This is an absolutely important criterion for me.

Slowly Developing

When I first smelled the Karo Kauer fragrance No. 1, I was very skeptical; I found it far too intrusive, spicy, and yet sweet, aromatic, and hard to assess because it simply smells like so many things at once.
Since I followed Karo Kauer's recommendation and let the fragrance develop, after half an hour / an hour, I suddenly found it pleasantly fragrant and consider this scent
Fresh, Sweet, and Powdery. So - give it time!!

Do I smell pencil?

The scent starts off really well. I perceive a fruity freshness.
I probably smell the mandarin and the lychee.
If I didn't know the notes, I wouldn't have been able to identify the fruit directly.

What puzzled me was the background note right after spraying. Behind the freshness, which is quickly joined by floral notes, I smelled something that almost has a sweaty scent.
Not animalic or disgusting, but the association was there.

As the scent develops, this impression fades away, and I now perceive the note I previously associated with sweat as a pencil smell.

However, all of this plays out in the background, as the fresh, floral, and also fruity notes definitely take center stage.

Over time, the pencil note also disappears. Strangely enough, I usually notice pencil notes in fragrances that contain rose and woody notes.

I find the scent rather not powdery, so I don't get anything from the iris. But that could also be because I was too focused on perceiving the other scent components.

In the end, it is floral-fresh with slightly ambered notes for me.

2 Phase Perfume

For me, the scent divides into 2 phases. At first, I love it: it is really fresh, powdery, and special. Bergamot and mandarin have particularly captivated me, and I can smell them well. The peach scent comes quite quickly, and I like that too.
After a few hours, something bothers me, and after thinking about it several times, I realized: it’s the rose. The only solution is to spray it on again, then I’m in love again.
