Original or Dupe?

Almost simultaneously, I heard about Vintage Radio and received a sample of Paragon while shopping at my perfume store. To test as objectively as possible, I ordered a decant of Vintage Radio and tested both on my skin at the same time.
Vintage Radio starts with a fresh plum and a slightly herbal note, with the woody base only hinted at in the background. Over time, it becomes increasingly sweet-woody-creamy, while the plum never completely loses its freshness.
The similarity to Initio is unmistakable, and the scent progression is similar as well; however, Paragon has a woody oud note from the very beginning, which makes the fragrance feel less rounded, somewhat angular, but thus definitely more interesting. Overall, this gives it a more high-quality and niche impression in direct, close comparison.
Over time, the fragrances become more similar, and especially in the air, they are hardly distinguishable, which is why I opted for the more affordable option. Generally, I prefer to buy the original, provided there is a noticeable upgrade to the dupe. Since that was ultimately not the case here, I am very satisfied with Vintage Radio.

In summary, it must be noted: Both fragrances are very well received! The sample of Initio lasted for two more wears after the test, and I was approached right after. The same goes for Vintage Radio. I have never been approached more often about any fragrance, and I have even gifted it several times, with always excellent feedback. It accompanies you throughout the day or evening, constantly present without being intrusive.
