princess raffaella
A coconut cream and blossom syrup cocoon. Queen bee of the bedtime gourmand niche. This is the kind of scent you sink into, like a memory foam bed. The heart of BB is nutty, milky – very white chocolate – and envelops all it touches. I punched the air when I ctrl-F’d “Raffaello” and found plenty others who had the same reaction. The tuberose and jasmine dance a few inches off the skin as a nectary, humid musk. It smells like I’ve just lathered myself in cocoa butter and rolled in a bed of candied petals. One of those perfumes that manages to not only smell like a perfume, but a lotion too. She's no wallflower vanilla, as I got at least ten hours out of three daubs to the collarbones. As with Régime des Fleur’s Fleur Éclair (which feels like a more floral, less milky version) she's a very pretty, very sweet treat… but just not my cup of tea.
Mental Snapshot: A princess’s sleepover party, at the White Lotus. The suite is piled high with fluffy pillows and fleecy blankets, guests staving off sleep with sugar highs. Marshmallow, buttercream, marzipan, angel cake. The air hangs sweet and heavy with the scent of a dozen different massage lotions and fresh-plucked leis.
tl;dr: sugary sleepover
