Golden Hookah
Baroko opens with a very distinct rum note, quickly followed by amber and tobacco. We're talking shisha tobacco here - sweet and fruity, not bitter, heavy, or unpleasant in any way. I couldn’t quite pinpoint which fruit the sweetness reminds me of, but it’s all done with a light touch - no cloying pastry vibes.
A spicy facet soon follows, with cinnamon and even a hint of toasted sesame - it’s a journey straight to the Orient!
Altogether, it’s a beautiful composition: warm and enveloping, amber-filled, liqueur-like, fruity, spicy, sweet, and tinged with tobacco.
To give you an idea, it strongly reminds me of Ambre d'Alexandrie and belongs to the same family of gourmand orientals that are so popular right now, except this one comes at a very attractive price.
Definitely a future purchase!
