Overall nice but very sweet amber

Sampling Boucheron Ambre d’Alexandrie, a saccharine but slightly animalic amber fragrance, a vanillic amber with hints of spices, ambergris, and musk. It’s a bit sharp and heady while also being sweet, with some of the depth of the amber being supplanted by spices. Still, there’s a slight animalic side underlying the dominant sweetness. Overall, it’s just a bit too much treble, not enough bass as a resinous fragrances go.

In the US, Ambre d’Alexandrie is available for $114 for 125ml on FragranceNet, though retail pricing via Harrods in the UK is $210. It seems to perform pretty well and is very nice to try. I bought a sample off of FragranceNet.

A spicy amber, a fruity tobacco

A sublime perfume for which I fell in love immediately!

It's a warm amber coupled with a fruity shisha tobacco and a nice dose of cinnamon. There is also a liquorous side and I am pretty sure there is rum here. This fruity tobacco and cinnamon combination gives an impression of apple pie but we are here very far from the ultra sweet result that Angels'Share offers; it’s delicate and perfectly measured.

In reality I find it better than Ambre Narguilé which I find low in dosage and better than the Kilian, which I find too "pastry".

Truly superb.

Delicious

Here we have it! The flagship, the C-weapon, or also the Death Star of
Boucheron. One from the sixth series of the new collection. An amber scent that packs a punch.
Extremely delicious, extremely rich, and extremely long-lasting. That can certainly be said.
A small spritz on my wrist from the tiny sample lasted for several hours, including three hand washes. Ambre d'Alexandrie is so durable and
resistant that it has truly impressed me. It is the strongest of the entire collection. So much for that!

So how does it smell? Well,... it has a little twin that is familiar to almost all of us.
This little, weak, and not inexpensive scent twin resides in our bathroom.
It is preferred during the pre-Christmas season. In my opinion, this label produces
completely overpriced handbags and luxury leather goods. Admittedly, I have a few of them,
but they were gifts from Mrs. Can. She is an absolute fan of the label. This particular scent twin was even gifted to her by me. Because it smells so deliciously of apple pie with cinnamon and vanilla sauce. And it is from H-e-r-m-e-s. Which scent twin could that be?
Naaaaa?,....Bingo,....Ambre Narguilé.

But with Ambre d'Alexandrie, everything is immensely amplified. It's like Godzilla versus Maya the Bee.
This scent just oozes power and endurance. It smells delicious, even extremely delicious in my opinion, but it smells like Ambre Narguilé. That's it!

OK!,....I'll give it another exciting description.
It smells like a huge, gigantic, and warm gourmand apple pie, from which cinnamon-sweet-spicy steam rises. Bubbling and delicious vanilla pours over it
and combines with buttery soft amber into a spicy-smoky and enticing delicacy.

So?,... how was that? Delicious, right?

Conclusion
Longevity: From one solar eclipse to the next. So long!
Sillage: It can go through walls. So strong!
Gender: Unisex. We all love sweet things. But one must really want it.

A deliciously fragrant opulence monster to love and cuddle.
Highly concentrated in longevity and aura.
Delicious and indescribably tasty.

And here we go with strong fruit. And sweetness. Fruit basket with raisins. You could believe it.

Then a push into the cream, with heavy bergamot that could be a bit fresher, capturing the whole macchia with cistus. Labdanum brings in the amber and benzoin gives the crown.

A very rich fragrance, almost like under a rose arch. Medium brown amber with a soft melt. In its powerful wearability, a composition that becomes darker over time.

It rises strongly into the round and builds up into the round. Powerful vanilla, entwined with the balsamic amber. It lasts. Almost a bit coarse, almost a bit heavy. It has to be like that sometimes. I like it. 9.0

The Captivating Charm and the Longing for Love

At first, one can perceive an intense sweet - creamy Bourbon vanilla, stirred for so long that only the cream - foam remained and was skimmed off.

At the same time, the vanilla merges with a large, sweetly - fruity appearing, "dense" Golden Delicious apple, harvested at just the right time, evoking the image of an apple pie filled with vanilla, which I attribute to the shisha smoke.

In the background, there is a very fine and warming balsamic hint of milk chocolate, leading one to feel that next to the cake stands a cocoa, whose scent wafts into the nose, thanks to the benzoin.

This constellation is perceptible on my skin for 30 minutes before the heart note unfolds.

The Bourbon vanilla in the heart note is slightly dimmed but still very clearly perceivable and unites with a fine - bright, yet deeply sweet, slightly viscous nuance that smells of "flower honey," giving the fragrance a captivating charm and comes from labdanum.

The labdanum is enveloped by an incredibly beautiful, snug, and cozy sweet - spicy note that is hard to resist, even evoking a longing for love, stemming from the amber accord.

The heart note is perceptible on my skin for 5 hours before the base asserts itself.

In the last 3 hours, Ambre d' Alexandrie becomes very clear and pure - sweet thanks to the musk, without reminding one of freshly washed laundry, receiving a smooth resinous touch from the amber, behind which a very subtle smokiness hides, beautifully rounding off the fragrance.

Ambre d' Alexandrie is a wonderful companion in the spring, autumn, and winter months for both women and men of all ages who are looking for a gourmand sweet, creamy, spicy, and resinous fragrance that possesses a longing-inducing charm.

Overall, the fragrance lasts 8 hours on my skin.

The sillage is designed in the first 2.5 hours so that one is perceived very clearly up to 3 meters away and then settles for 2 hours at a very noticeable full arm's length before it reduces in minimal steps until the fragrance fades away.

Intoxicating opening with a sweet amber and vanilla. We get a moist tobacco and a slightly boozy benzoin. Then tobacco, ambergris, musk.

Was told this is "apple pie", but it's far from. Zero apple, no crust - mostly get tobacco, benzoin, and spicy amber. Unisex-leaning.
