My Reaction to a Blind Test Without Knowing the Contents of the Sample
I find the opening smoky-fresh, somehow really sexy. It also has a slight sweetness to it; I consider it an excellent choice for a lovely outdoor dinner in the summer. To me, it smells like wood dusted with powder. A skin-aura-glow scent that is not too loud. I’m currently perceiving ginger, a very lightly candied ginger. Otherwise, the fragrance gives me a feeling of cozy, soft tranquility. A very nice relaxation scent. And I find it has something absolutely timeless about it. Elegant yet comfortable. It gives me a sense of relaxation and presence, being in the here and now. It provides me with security and warmth, like a second skin. A gentle veil of velvet and silk. And I find it has a lot of volume in the air. It’s beautifully fluffy, like dough rising. I keep thinking of dough, cookie dough, probably because of the vanilla. It’s deliciously rich without being cloying. This is the kind of scent I would spray into the air and then walk through, so it envelops my naked body completely without being too intense in any one spot. It also has a dreamy quality for me. A fragrance as a bridge between sleep and wakefulness. This is what waking up smells like, even before you are fully here. Still half in a dream, in the soft, delicate fog of ignorance. A breath of innocence before becoming human again. Wow, this is really very, very, very beautiful. Not at all my usual type, but it does something to me. I can also see it in autumn with golden light and slightly cooler air. It gives me vibes of gold dust and the very specific scent that little fairies leave behind before they dissolve into thin air. Overall, I find the fragrance very subtle, like a negative image or the background/context of something grand. When the fantastic, groundbreaking, royal disappears or fades away, this is the charming trace that remains in the room and the air. The Trace of something Great. And I still perceive that ginger quite distinctly. It also makes time seem to pass much more slowly for me. A deceleration scent. In the drydown, it becomes a bit fruitier. Is that cherry? It also smells wonderfully noble and not sticky at all. I really like it.
