Thomas Girl Now - probably the marketing guy got a six-figure sum to come up with the name.
The fragrance with the incredibly creative and meaningful name "Tommy Girl Now" (in German: "Thomas Mädchen Jetzt") is very similar to the original scent "Tommy Girl". The fragrance pyramid can say whatever it wants, but for me, green tea, a juicy green apple along with its corresponding apple blossom, citrus notes, and lily of the valley are at the forefront. A hint of mint also joins in. I find the new Tommy Girl significantly more successful than the original. The original "Girl" has such an intense, synthetic lily of the valley note for me that I can't stand it for a minute without getting a headache and a vague nausea. Even in the "Now" version, I smell this lily of the valley note, but here it is not as overpowering and does not cause such strong aversion in me. Generally, I find the whole fragrance more subtle than the original: the longevity seems to be the same, but the sillage is significantly weaker and thus more pleasant for people, as I already found the original "Tommy Girl" overwhelmingly dosed with just one spray. I also find the piercing, synthetic "freshness" here a bit muted, which makes the fragrance less aggressive and biting, instead allowing it to appear rounder, more reserved, and more pleasant. In "Tommy Girl Now," I also perceive subtly bitter, woody, and spicy notes that make the fragrance softer and less intrusive. The musk additionally "grounds" it. This fragrance will not become my favorite either, but if I had to choose between the two Tommy Girls, I would definitely prefer this one. For green tea lovers or ladies who like it green and fresh, it's certainly not a bad choice for summer. Five days before Christmas, however, it feels so out of place.
