So how is it? Should you buy it or not?
Since I already had the EdP, I was very curious to finally get a whiff of the Extrait! What can I say, it is unmistakably close to the original, but I definitely prefer the Extrait because it is simply deeper, rounder, and for me, more masculine!
The Extrait opens with a beautiful, powerful Centifolia rose that is very intense but never overwhelming. It is not the romantic rose; rather, it is the dark, self-assured version! The black Zorro among Centifolia roses! The saffron supports this wonderfully and is always on the edge of not taking over the fragrance character. The resinous touch is then brought by the patchouli and labdanum, great and with a lot of depth. I can only speculate that the immortelle is responsible for bringing a certain mineral-rough note into the fragrance. In any case, the rose comes across as wild, masculine, and a bit untamed to me.
Compared to the EdP, the Extrait is less fresh, but significantly more complex and somehow more mysterious!
