3 note wonder
Grapefruit, saffron, labdanum. This really smells like the 3 listed notes, and they're all equally noticeable, but none of them stands out instantly. It's a fresh, sweet, warm, clean, balsamic, sharp, lush blend that I haven't smelled anywhere before. The mix of labdanum and lemony fresh grapefruit gives the scent a wet texture, this is not the dry and resinous kind of labdanum, but a balmy and light one. The saffron is more on the medicinal, abstract side, like it is done in many modern niche fragrances. It doesn't smell like opening a bag of the real spice, but it's still unmistakably saffron. As the notes play together in a unique way, the opening and heart phase are really hard to describe, but the drydown has a bit of a fresh laundry vibe.
I find this completely unisex and gender-neutral, none of the notes are decidedly masculine or feminine.
By the way, "Artig" is a weird name for a fragrance.
On its own it means "well-behaved" and is usually only used for small children or in an ironic way. But it's also a suffix for adjectives, similar to -like in English, so I thought it was maybe meant to be combined with the other Mavemade fragrances to make sense. The problem is that most of the names sound clumsy to nonsensical paired with "-artig". It's a bit unfortunate because the fragrance is quite good.
