Chocolaty, Creamy, Aged Musk

An Nabi from Mellifluence. Aged Kashmiri Musk. Macerated in Ambergris and Agarwood, for the most part. There are a few other ingredients but to me, it's all about the Musk and the Ambergris.

This is not your regular musk attar. What makes this so special is the aging and the musk used. In perfumery, aging makes everything better, and I believe when it comes to Musk and Ambergris, especially Musk, nothing works as well as time. An Nabi is the Yin to Jinkoh Store's aged Katsuri macerate Yang. That one was aged musk in Mysore Sandalwood, showcasing a vanillic profile. This one is all about the chocolate nuances of musk. If I didn't know what is in here, I'd guess loads of Orris butter, ambergris, and cocoa. It smells like all-natural chocolate in which cocoa butter was generously used. The musk is powdery and soft with an almost ambrette seed-like sweetness and a prominent chocolaty facet, whereas the ambergris lends this waxy, creamy, and sweet quality. The blend itself is quite simple yet radiates a multitude of subtle nuances that these complex natural raw materials display. It is a delight to the senses and a caress for the soul. It only gets better with time, although I can't imagine it getting any smoother and sweeter than it already is. If there is any other raw material in perfumery capable of comparing to Kōdō aproved Agarwood it has to be aged Musk.
