Aromatic mushroom threads weave through the sweet earthy foundation. White chocolate past its expiration date can challenge the connoisseur.

It really is. You have to let yourself get into it. My first Chinese oud.

In the heat, chocolate can be tricky too..

Especially with a health food store organic chocolate. The cheers are definitely more reserved.

Less green and boozy, and devoid of any animalic notes or heavy woodiness, this (Chinese) Hainan Oud is indeed worth the journey. It develops excellently on my skin after an hour, although it was a bit too resinous for me at first. Another great example of the diversity of a sadly limited raw material.
