The orange at the beginning is delightful. It has a sparkling, pearlescent quality thanks to the aldehydes. The cinnamon could just as well be mixed with clove, which, despite all the late summer vibes, makes me think of Christmas. In the base, there’s a sweet, coumarin-immortelle hay-benzoin-like note, with a slightly earthy, almost clay-like quality, possibly from the fennel, that sometimes feels almost doughy. I could also imagine ambrette seeds as an ingredient. This adds a certain gourmand touch now and then. Together with the myrrh, it feels balsamic. In the very end, it even has a hint of tobacco leaves. A pleasantly spiced treat, really nice to wear, and just a bit special.
