Sharp and almost sour... but I still sometimes I reach for it
So... I want to be a rose girly. The idea of 'smelling like roses evokes images of wandering through a lush rose garden lit by moonlight.
This is... more akin to the almost sour, but still floral smell of roses where the water has been left in too long and you start smelling the decaying plant matter. I know some people smell pickles, and while that has not personally been my experience, if my olfactory bulbs experienced this even a hair more sour I think I would smell pickles. I'm not sure which note creates the distinct sourness. It's very similar to the screechyness I smell in Daisy by Marc Jacobs, but the only note they share is grapefruit.
I want to like this and sometimes I find myself reaching for it when I'm in the mood. It's not a perfume for muggy or hot days. I would recommend for a clear, crisp spring or autumn day.
And when I am in the right mood, it starts off as a very pretty, youthful rose. As it's name suggests, it's a delicate note, almost like a high, quavering percussive sound. The sourness is still there but somehow it's blended well enough that it more adds to the immersive feeling of being in a garden. It's once the top note fades that the sourness becomes more prominent and I stop smelling the rose foremost. My nose is pretty sensitive to I smell things for a long time and I can smell the remnants of this on my clothes for days afterwards.
