Counter cultural icon

This one grew on me. At first I was a little afraid as I was new to fragrance and a bit put off by the cumin (also it was a hot summer in Barcelona when I tried). A year later I tried again and fell in love. This has since become my favourite "fancy" scent. It's the only one I own that I wouldn't wear day to day and so keep for special occasions. I'm a very casual person so a white floral like this tends to be a bit over the top for my usual attire!

It's musky and a little sweaty from the costus and cumin, which I personally love. However it's absolutely not over the top, just quite sensual and keeps the florals grounded and a little closer to gender neutral (which is more to my taste).

The tiaré keeps it a tiny bit sweet and gives a taste of the tropical, but the grit beneath keeps it down to earth and sensual and in keeping to the scent story - about the queer, cross-dressing activist José Perez Ocaña who was a counter cultural icon in 1980s Barcelona.

This scent makes me feel quite powerful and mature, whilst also feeling a little "edgy" and different. I probably wouldn't have felt comfortable enough to wear it before my mid thirties (I was a late fragrance bloomer). In my top 5 so far.
