vanilla wearing a disguise?
I am notoriously a vanilla hater. It's usually too sweet, cloying, and one-dimensional for me. I tend to prefer woody, spicy, aromatic, and soft fragrances. I tried this one very skeptically and found a pleasant surprise. This is a vanilla that will almost make me admit, I DO like vanilla.
The problem with most vanillas is they go cloying or end up smelling like playdough. But This one flirts with salt and aromatics and mate in a way that is completely transformative. It has become addictive to me, in a way that makes me understand why vanilla is such a staple and comfort for so many. If this is what vanilla feels like to others, then I will formally apologize.
When I wear this, my mom is baking and my grandma is cooking. Something rich and full of spices. Something salty and comforting. I am by the flowers and house plants. The window is open. The air smells sweet and savory. The air is thick, but not in a choking way. In a way that makes you feel held.
