Perfect Woody Amber Incense Patchouli
Patch head here. I love this scent profile: earthy, balsamic patchouli. It's ubiquitous for a reason --> it just smells good. Nino (nose behind Reminiscence's classic Patchouli) does it even better this time. Patchouli is made (1) aromatic with citrus/vetiver combo; (2) sweet with cacao/tolu/tonka; (3) woody with cedar/sandalwood; and (4) smoky with incense (I've seen labdanum or myrrh listed on various sites--it might be labdanum, though, because there is a whiff of leather). What you get is an intitially very bright and sparkly camphorous patchouli, an earthy, chocolately-sweet patch heart, and then finally a balsamic woody base. Lasts ages in the sweet phase, so fans of classic amber-patchoulis will likely adore. Somewhat of a sleeper (2019 release) that I expect will become a cult classic (much like Reminscence) once it catches on.
For comparison, similiar in style to Jovoy's Psychedelique (boozy chocolate) and Il Profvmo's Patchouli Noir (vanilla-sandalwood). Safe blind buy if you enjoy those.
