Taro and all its various facets

I would describe this as the Asian take on the idea of a cashmere sweater. Taipei is warm, the opening reminiscent of the air lingering in a boba store or Chinese bakery. You get this nuttiness from the taro and soy milk in the opening, which gradually fades away into the smell of sandalwood softened by white musk. I wouldn't classify it as a rice fragrance though because it lacks the airiness freshly folded rice has, defenitely leans more toward the woody side. The fragrance itself is more of a love letter to taro and its various facets. It's quite well blended, I have difficulty picking out any of the individual notes once the fragrance progresses to this stage. Taipei is strong, and easily lasts over 8 hours on the skin and leaves a detectable sillage as you move. On clothing it is practically eternal. It would suit someone with a cozy aesthetic, who enjoys wearing thick fluffy sweaters and wool pants. Unfortunately that is not me, I'm glad I own it because of how conceptually unique it is but a decant would have sufficed.
