Licorice
Recently, I was able to purchase the discontinued 'Signature Gold' at a bargain price from an auction house. It was a blind buy that I do not regret.

'Signature Gold' starts off subtly fruity and spicy sweet. The bergamot is likely represented by its juice rather than the peel. Cardamom and also the red pepper may contribute to this fruitiness.

However, the fruity note only lasts a few minutes; 'Signature Gold' becomes somewhat spicy and sweet. I can perceive the orange blossom very clearly, while the cinnamon is more in the background.

After about an hour, wood starts to emerge more prominently, the cinnamon retreats completely, and the orange blossom weakens a bit. Instead, I can now distinctly smell nutmeg and tonka bean.

The blend of wood, nutmeg, tonka bean, and still sweet orange blossom now defines the fragrance's progression until the end.

'Signature Gold' is a scent that, while characterized by an intense sweet note from the beginning, never becomes annoying. Because wood and spices always provide a good counterbalance to the sweetness.

I would wear 'Signature Gold' especially in cold and cool temperatures.

I find the bottle quite appealing, and the longevity is a good eight hours, with the sillage being rather moderate.

Notes Race - Head to Head
Now I will indeed break a lance for the good Otto, who generally does not come off well here.*gg*
In the drugstore, I actually wanted to test a few expensive fragrances today, when my gaze fell on the solitary Gold Edition. Without knowing that it is a men's fragrance, I happily sprayed it on.

'Oha' I thought, what a beautiful, warm, and powdery scent.
In the meantime, I also tested Gaultier Classique and Otto Kern Woman Signature and wandered around the drugstore to let the scents develop.

But secretly, I kept circling around the men's fragrance from Otto Kern. The saleswoman then grinned and told me it was for men. Now, I don’t feel masculine, but rather quite feminine and lovely.*gg*
But that didn’t help.

I, the absolute opponent of dark, often lavender-infused and harsh men’s fragrances, bought the Gold Edition and boldly claim that it is not a men’s fragrance.

If perhaps not exactly feminine, then certainly a unique scent.
I don’t know if Otto is a delicate, feminist-tinged man, but I really can’t imagine this scent on a big strong guy.

The opening begins somewhat citrusy, and immediately soft powdery notes join in. Presumably, the base notes want to overtake the top notes. But the heart notes are also strongly in the race, while the top notes refuse to give up the victory.
This goes on for a long time, and no one wins.

On my other wrist, I had sprayed Gaultier Classique and had also tested Gaultier Male some time ago, finding both good but not worth buying.
I consider the Gold Edition signature from Otto Kern to be a blend of the two Gaultier fragrances, as there are significant similarities for my nose. Gaultier Classique lacks the citrus part, which Gaultier Male can claim as its own.
But all three of these fragrances have a beautiful, soft, warm, and present scent aura, with a delicate vanilla standing out.

Ladies can therefore wear this fragrance without worry, though of course, taste decides differently.

For an EDT, the scent lasts very long.
