Ombre Nomade to get you started?

I ordered Imperial Wood as a sample, as this fragrance was suggested to me from time to time in combination with Ombre Nomade and thus aroused my curiosity. Ombre Nomade is one of my favorite fragrances and goes in a direction that represents my taste well. I'm always looking for variety and variation in my favorites.

When I received the sample, I immediately sprayed two puffs on my arm and was filled with joy. And yes, I was immediately struck by the feeling of the well-known Ombre Nomade. The opening is characterized by oud and some leather. Just like I'm used to, wow! But after just a few seconds, new tones blend into the fragrance. It gets exciting!

The rose is clearly perceptible and in no time at all a certain sweetness blends into the overall picture. I'm a little surprised at first. My first associations are "soap, cream, almond, cherry". For me, the soap note in particular has built a bridge towards greener notes. Is that the thyme? After a few thoughts, I put the idea aside and continue to smell the sample, which now reveals its true woody, sweet, spicy and rosy character in the drydown. I am left with many memories of rose oud fragrances, such as Oud Satin Mood or Shaghaf variations.

My conclusion? I think the fragrance is a success. It is particularly striking in the opening and has certain similarities with the classic Ombre Nomade. However, the core of Imperial Wood is much softer and creamier, less jarring and therefore more pleasing. I would therefore recommend it for all noses that are looking for a sweet rose with a slight leathery twist. Ideal on the way to the stronger perfumes!
