Vanilla for Adults

The scent was a blind buy for me, or rather purchased by my husband for me, after the fragrance notes appealed to me so much.

Anyone expecting a pure, sticky vanilla will be disappointed. Sugary sweetness is definitely hard to find here. The vanilla is mature and heavy, making it alluring and almost a bit seductive. For me, the scent strongly reminds me of a day in the bakery when vanilla extract was mixed with rum extract to create a delicious cake. Or of the crème brûlée that my uncle used to make for us at Christmas with Grand Marnier. Thus, it brings back a lovely memory of long-gone days.

In the drydown, it becomes softer; the rum fades away, and the vanilla, together with the tonka bean and musk, comes through more. Rose and leather remain more in the background for me.

I can't comment on the similarity to Vanilla Royal Sugared Patchouli, as I don't know the original. Compared to other Kayali fragrances, whose longevity in terms of value for money always falls short for me, I definitely find the scents from Paris Corner to be better. This one also has a quite good longevity of 5-6 hours on the skin, and even longer on clothing.

The only drawback for me is that the bottle is quite large, and with the cap on, it doesn't fit in my perfume cabinet. But that's of course a very individual problem ;)
