Main thing is ethyl maltol...
still fermenting rum
hint of lavender
a lot of plastic musk and tonka to finish

The comments... 😅 ...well, I'm not really the target audience either, but I would test it if I get the chance. I think a 5 is still quite generous (average) if you don't like the scent. I find honest comments very important; they've never stopped me from forming my own opinion. And I'm actually grateful for the Ambricenide warnings (migraines). Peace 😘

Huh, what's going on here in the comments section? 🙄 I’m not familiar with this fragrance house, but I definitely know the perfumer. To be honest, I'm a bit saturated with these kinds of scents. But I'm sure there are plenty of people who will enjoy it. I'm moving on.

The scent is really amazing and a fantastic first release. Please form your own opinion and don’t let this comment discourage you. Giving the fragrance a 5 may be true for this person, but for most "good" noses, it will simply be a total winner. Statements like "plastic musk" or "as long as there's ethyl maltol" sound like describing a cheap dupe, which is absolutely unfair to the fragrance. I find it shocking how many people just say NO to it because of this. There are even samples available now. So if you really want to leave a meaningful comment instead of saying things like "oh god, better not" or "sounds terrible," which don’t contribute anything to the actual scent without having tested it, then TEST it first.
For me, it’s a beautiful fresh-spicy & oriental-sweet fragrance.
Thanks :)

Fragrance assessments are always very varied and subjective, as everyone has a different sense of smell due to biological factors, including different anosmias and hyperosmias. On top of that, tastes vary.
El Attarine has always commented with integrity and thoughtfulness, having tested over 2000 fragrances...
Parfumo is not just an advertising platform or one for influencers. Anyone can share their opinion here, even a negative one. The fragrance has mostly been praised here, just not by everyone. So what?
Translated · Show originalShow translation
AdrYurrrAdrYurrr 8 months ago
Your response to the original statement didn't seem convincing either. In a way, I was countering her statement, which was my goal, since so many people are put off by the scent and many just repeat that opinion. Absolutely no hate towards “ElAttarine.” I just wanted to show a different side of the fragrance in this comment section - including my opinion. By the way, I didn't say she has a "bad nose" and that only "good noses" will appreciate this scent. I simply said that most "good" noses would like the fragrance :)
Translated · Show originalShow translation
ChizzaChizza 8 months ago

You contrast her opinion with "good" noses, which is also purely subjective, and you dismiss her statement. Honestly, I have to say that your comments make me more hesitant about the fragrance than her actual statement, as it's inappropriate.
Translated · Show originalShow translation
AdrYurrrAdrYurrr 9 months ago
I didn't accuse you of anything.
However, one could definitely interpret your original statement as a "hate attack," as it just sounds aggressive and derogatory. That's exactly what 99% of the readers will notice first, and it will totally turn them off. Is that fair or just for the fragrance? No.

Thank you for your feedback. I tested it with interest, an open mind, and in detail, but unfortunately, I don't seem to be the target audience.
I'm not here to push any hate agenda; that's not why I'm on Parfumo, and I never write anything without a thorough test. I would like to politely dismiss such insinuations.
And as I mentioned before, I wish Phil much success with his debut and future releases!

When I read something like this again, that ethyl maltol tastes or smells like cotton candy (sticky/sweet), it has nothing in common with this beautiful resinous, spicy, and sweet scent, and then plastic musk-nowadays, there are absolutely, or almost, no fragrances that don't rely on synthetic musk notes, making this a completely nonsensical statement. Is there anyone else from the category: I’m something special and only rate absolutely niche (often unbearable and overpriced) fragrances, where 8 out of 10 people would say: unbearable?

How can you judge someone for their subjective opinion?!! Everyone has different tastes. Some like certain things more, and some like them less. She has also tested and rated "mainstream" fragrances well enough... I just don't get it. This is unworthy of Parfumo.

I can only agree with Gold. Everyone experiences scents in their own way; what seems too sweet or artificial to one person is a highlight for another. Some just have a finer sensitivity to certain notes. In the end, it’s nice that tastes are so different. That’s what makes the world of fragrances exciting. There’s no need to talk about "categories" and come off as insulting.

And what "category" are you, Khalifa456? I find it terrible to insult others over differing opinions on a fragrance (!!!), which is purely a matter of taste. This clearly shows what kind of person you are. If you can't handle that someone else's favorite scent isn't perceived as absolutely amazing by them as it is by you, you should really reconsider why you react that way.

Isn't the purpose of this platform to share scent impressions in the form of statements and reviews? Sometimes I get the impression that negative scent descriptions aren't welcome. It's impossible for everyone to like everything, and as long as a dislike doesn't turn into a personal attack, it should be perfectly fine. I only know ElAttarine as a very serious tester, and I've never read a "frivolous" statement from her. And as always, in the end, everyone has to form their own opinion about a fragrance.
