Soap for spraying
I bought Jus d'Ambre because I've loved the soap and shower gel for years. I was about to buy the soap and saw that the eau de toilette was also available (and at a very reasonable price), so I just had to try it out. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations - the price is too low and the concentration is on the light side.
But: I was really pleasantly surprised.
Immediately after spraying it on, the scent is almost identical to that of the soap. A mixture of amber, light spices and a subtle warmth. Not a fragrance in which a single note pops or pushes itself to the fore - rather a rounded, harmonious overall picture. And that's exactly what I was hoping for. The fragrance is really pleasant to wear for the first hour or two. Light, warm - just the right balance.
But then it gets a little difficult.
After about two hours, a note suddenly comes to the fore that I hadn't expected: pure clove. And it's really clear. The fragrance becomes almost a little spicy. The clove actually takes over completely. And the longer I wear the fragrance on my skin, the less I notice of the original character.
That's not fundamentally bad - just unfortunately not what I was expecting from this fragrance. Mainly because it was never an issue with the soap, as it evaporates quickly, it is more noticeable with the eau de toilette.
I now use it more as a room fragrance - and it works well there. Warm, spicy, calming. On the skin, however, it remains the exception - at least for me.
Nevertheless: a solid fragrance for the price with a delicious start.
