Tea-painted violet, orris & oud…
Opens juicy, violet & oud immediately present, shades of purple contrasting other florals, citrus and vanilla… Mandarin, stone fruit aspects front, very tannic/tea-like. Simultaneously powdery, a bit leathery, smoky. Hay like nuances. Fine sandalwood occasionally peaking through. Incensey oud. Florals used to accent wonderfully.
Superbly well done, one of the best of the house. The only two things I find it similar to are Brise d’Oud—also from Mr. Paré and strongly featuring tea and oud—and Havenhollow’s similarly themed Anachronism. Considering the quality of the ingredients and blend, the price of 15mL/$55 is rather phenomenal. Sillage intimate to moderate, longevity great, leans the slightest bit masculine but could also see women pulling it off with ease. Gives off rather classy and sophisticated vibes.
Bravo, good sir!!!
