Brittle tenderness
Brittle tenderness.
Saffron minutes pass in leathery slowness.
Time runs tic tac
like golden honey
from amber veins.
The world holds its myrrh breath.
Eternity stands still.
The flower of life curls around your body,
like the bonds of love.

Saffron without a rose. That I may still experience this. And a good one at that. Matt. Dry.
In my head, it evokes a slight leatheriness. Like the fine threads of time, the other notes join in. Honey at first, dark golden, but not much. The fragrance has me wrapped around its finger by the time it reaches the incense/myrrh note. Very delicate. The myrrh weaves in a subliminal, minimal sweetness. The fragrance begins to come alive. The clock is ticking again. It becomes softer, more balsamic, amber makes the pulse throb.
The marigold...
To be honest, I don't necessarily smell flowers, but Maurice Roucel could have drawn it with the fragrance, as it is a little plant that grows in a brittle environment, and its softness comes to light in its healing effect.
You may wonder... She swoons like this, but 'only' a 9.
This is a fragrance that doesn't want to be a 10.
Some people won't like the brittle opening, will be bothered by the saffron, the honey or the sweetness at the end, and certainly by the price. The fragrance is certainly nothing completely new, and yet Maurice Roucel has composed it so precisely that the inconspicuous becomes a healing ointment.
One drop sprayed on my skin in the evening lasted the whole next day, subtle and beautiful.
