the mysterious number seven
The former "fashion wonder girl" Caren Pfleger puts my nose and my "entire fragrance wisdom" to a test that I am attempting to tackle here.
For "CP Caren Pfleger" is very mysterious, very discreet: there is hardly any information available; thus, any research has led to nothing.

Caren Pfleger entered the international fashion stage alongside Margaretha Ley and Jil Sander.
The career on the runway was not enough; she forged her path as a designer: with her first own studio in the basement of her parents' villa in Cologne. Cologne is, by the way, still her home, alongside New York.
In 1980, she presented her own, very high-quality collection at the "Munich Fashion Week" and made a name for herself in this still male-dominated world.
I still remember very well how impressed I was by the aura of this woman in the mid-eighties. She was then "the face" of her own skincare line.
Even today, Ms. Pfleger looks sensational: profound, strong, seductive!

The number "seven" seems to hold a special allure for Ms. Pfleger (the same goes for our Can777!).
She caused a stir in the industry with the first "business suit"; she created a "seven-piece set for the successful woman": a collection that ensures she is well-dressed anytime and anywhere.
That must have been a dream for many men: just seven pieces - how little space does this collection take up in the wardrobe!
(However, this did not include accessories, bags, and shoes! Ladies: there is no reason to prophesy an apocalypse!)

Her book "Charisma - The Seven Pillars of Beauty" is also based on this number.
In the chapter on fragrances, it notes that women have a much greater sense of smell than men.
This is no surprise: which mother doesn't smell when her loved ones are sick?
I can only confirm that this sensitivity increases with age: it is not always easy to live with.
Part of it likely consists of personal memories of scents!
The wealth of experience grows significantly with the passing years, so the sense of smell responds accordingly: it remembers!

Caren Pfleger's fragrances must have come onto the market, in my sense of time, in the second half of the eighties.
Jil Sander had already carved out her place by then; we know much more about her fragrance creations.
Pleasantly surprised and encouraged by the kindness of the representative from "Klimt Parfums Salzburg," I tried to obtain more information through Ms. Pfleger's contact address.
But they deemed a response unnecessary.
Okay, so my own nose and her memory must act as detectives!

"CP Caren Pfleger" shines in the opening; thus, I suspect the typical aldehydes of the time.
I also find bergamot and lemon here.
"White flowers," such as tuberose and a hint of jasmine, seem to be present. Definitely the noble gardenia.
It would be prominently featured in a fragrance pyramid: it dominates quite a bit.
(We both have slight difficulties with each other, so the recognition effect is naturally strong.)
The light spiciness of the carnation also quietly waves in the background.
It is a very noble fragrance entity that develops on my skin up to this point.
It elegantly moves towards vetiver and light woods: both bring a certain stability to the fragrance structure.
I think I perceive a bit of moss; I wouldn't want to rule out patchouli either.

How far my personal "fragrance explorer" is correct remains open. We will never know.
But that doesn't change the fact: "CP Caren Pfleger" is a scent that is very much to my heart: floral and a bit woody-brown with a green shimmer.
I perceive it as a kind of cashmere on the skin and also in the hair: warm and ladylike, flattering yet confident.
Just as the fashion collections are still based on the color beige, this fragrance composition is neither strikingly loud nor does it carry strong-colored fragrance notes within it: style dominates!
The longevity is in line with the overall appearance: "CP Caren Pfleger" accompanies me through the day for several lovely hours; gladly also through the evening.
The success at an evening appearance is assured for this fragrant lady: she captures the attention of the senses - unremarkably, but precisely for that reason, very emphatically.

"CP Caren Pfleger" remains a creation of this woman.
This fragrance is also a child of its time; a time when designers who held themselves in high regard launched a fragrance collection with more or less success.
Many of them are forgotten today; many have been adapted, sometimes even "copied" (their "soul" was taken from them, for whatever reasons), and yet relatively few have survived.
Then there remains the memory of one's own life and the accompanying fragrance partner.
And fortunately, the personal fragrance reserves still make it possible today to enjoy these fragrance creations.
Therefore, I thank Gerdi especially for this generous decant: I will cherish it.

Alluring, like the woman who gives her name and mysterious in its composition. An elegant fragrance creation that I truly appreciate.
