Very helpful Review
Is it Christmas again already?
Do you know those still lifes/arrangements on plates that some people use to decorate their homes?
Cinnamon sticks, dried woods, oranges, and the like on a plate from Leonardo (- and in my head, just one question: is this art or can it go?).
Here we have something similar, just without the dust collector factor.
So if I want to compete with the Christmas decorations and want to shout or rather whisper to the world, “I’m the tastiest cookie since the invention of the oven,” this would probably be my first choice.
My speech to the (my surrounding) world would begin with:
“I thank everyone who has come, my dear ladies and gentlemen! Thank you, bergamot and orange, for being here.”
At this moment, a brief image of the two would appear on the screen, smiling proudly and waving. Then they are gone. Apparently, they are not too keen on my lengthy speeches or want to go to the Christmas market.
“Lavender apologizes, he is sick today because he overexerted himself during his last exorcism. Cinnamon will take over his part today, thank you very much for that! Cinnamon is so versatile. Did you know that it is used in Chinese cuisine to season meat, and they really find it quite bizarre to refine desserts with it? Well...” (brief interruption at this point)
“Thank you, Jasmine, what did you want to say? I didn’t understand you! Don’t be shy, come to the podium and share it with everyone.” (...)
“Yes, exactly! There is a Christmas discount promotion. Caramel! Caramel Delight! Caramel chocolate cookies, today on offer for just five fifty!”
(Murmurs in the audience) “Yes, okay, we used vanillin instead of vanilla, but for you, my esteemed gluttonous philistines, that makes no difference anyway, the cookies are great! Help yourselves.
Merry Christmas!”
My speech fits like Caramel Delight only at Christmas.
Since it is recommended in many areas to behave counter-cyclically, I am glad in this case that this sweet treat is not a performer or even a sillage monster, so you wouldn’t really bother your colleagues in the office with it, hehehe (yes, I laugh at my own jokes), because Caramel Delight becomes quite intimate after one, at most two hours.
However, it really lasts long, just like the aforementioned decorative dust collectors - and you have to get just as close to them to be convinced that they still smell.
Whoever chose the term “citrus-gourmand” deserves no cookie from me! The seconds-long appearance of the (I cheekily call them) citrus duo, bergamot and orange (whichever, it’s not clearly a blood orange) can hardly have inspired this term.
Or can it?
Well...
Enough sweet wood has been grated.
When it comes to evaluating the price-performance ratio of perfume, I find it very difficult unless it’s about LaRive or the adventurer.
For the ~60€ (including shipping), they could have put a bit more effort into the bottle.
A glued-on label, really?!
I wouldn’t want to gift it at Christmas, unless I have the honor of testing Lira again someday and then find out that I am dealing with the better version here.
Merry Christmas, ladies and gentlemen!
Eat cookies and stay healthy!
