For starters: the opening is a real powerhouse. The Indian oud comes in with an almost boozy, fermented edge, alongside dark, heavy woods and a hint of unsweetened cocoa in the background.
After 20 minutes, it shifts again: instead of going purely animalic, a damp, dew-kissed grass and hay note comes through, along with leather. After about an hour, the pepper starts to sparkle, and the composition turns dry, dusty, and masculine-spicy.
But by hour 3-4, the scent settles into boring monotony. The sillage is there for around 2.5-3 hours, sure, but the longevity drops off sharply after 4-5 hours, leaving behind a rather unremarkable blanket of dark woods. P.S. For that exorbitant price, I want artisanal quality, not mass-produced niche perfumery :-/
