Féminité du Lait
Féminité du Bois milkshake - with the difficult bits taken out.
Easier to love, but nowhere near so impressive.

Not just Malaga...
After a grueling Saturday job (moving), I treated myself to a trip to Hamburg. Of course, I had to do some testing, and I was willing to go home with a new scent. After having already sniffed around quite a bit, I came across #1. I smell a familiar fragrance from Shiseido, but even more beautiful, softer. I actually wanted to take something completely different home, but this one fascinated me. The very nice lady at Lubner also sniffed extensively at my wrists and found this one great. (Well, it's her job to find scents great for the customers :-D).

I immediately smell Feminite de Bois; sandalwood stood out to me first. The wood is beautifully soft, wrapped in spices, along with a cotton-soft sweetness that isn't overwhelming, flowers that remain only in the background, and a bit of musk to round everything off. Everything forms a delicious mélange and gently melds with the skin.
I wouldn't have thought of Malaga ice on my own, but yes... that's how it probably smells. It doesn't develop much, just becomes a bit cozier over time. But hey... what does "just" mean here - this one flatters the senses, you don't have to deal with nasty edges and corners, but it lovingly caresses you from start to finish.

It's typical for me to discover new fragrances in the wrong season. #1 is, for me, a beautiful autumn scent that wraps you up like a soft warm blanket and protects you on those annoyingly cold days.
My darling.

Malaga
Who likes Malaga ice cream? I didn't even know you could spray yourself with it!

L'eau de parfum #1 (for you) / parfum trouvé (what a name!) by Miller et Bertaux is a very appetizing fragrance with a woody touch. The wood note here is very nice, rather mild than gnarly, more light brown than dark brown. It sets the basic character of the scent. And together with the other components, it creates a chord that, for me, smells like Malaga ice cream. Or correspondingly alcoholic raisins. Very delicious! Images of truffle chocolates, chestnuts, or perhaps even real truffle aroma are also fitting here. Aside from the woods, no ingredient stands out from the respectable fragrance pyramid.

Thus, this scent gets classified as a gourmand perfume for me. I don't want to beat around the bush; it is Malaga ice cream for me and nothing else. Wear it if you like that sort of thing.

If tested blind, I would've though this was Féminité du Bois. However, this is a bit more floral and soft in the drydown.

Sweet iris powder + warm spices sprinkle on the dark wooden table. Remaining flowers are just subtle. Nice autumn snuggler, but too much sweetness for me.

Sweet, powdery, delicate women's fragrance for quiet moments alone, a comfort in autumn and winter, for young and old!

Unpleasantly sweet iris and lily, I find it definitely feminine. I completely miss the wood, but I'm also almost allergic to this type of iris.

Reminds me of fruitcake soaked in dessert wine or rum punch. A bit similar to Féminité du bois, but more gourmand.

Sometimes I hardly smell anything, other times it’s an overly sweet, unpleasant bubble gum scent based on sandalwood. The fragrance isn’t for me.

*hust* Too much wood. The spice behind it is nice, but the wood ruins it for my taste. More for true wood fans!
